With Lawrie McKinna having moved upstairs at Bluetongue Stadium, there was a question mark over whether McBreen would be part of Arnold's vision. That raised hopes in Perth that McBreen might be able to remain at ME Bank Stadium.

However, the striker has talked to Arnold and been reassured, and will now be heading back east to link up with the Mariners squad.

"The only way I was ever going to come (back) to Perth was if Arnie came in and said I wasn't wanted at Central Coast," McBreen told Perth Now.

"But we've sat down and had a chat and he said I'm definitely part of his plans so he wasn't getting rid of me. It's all positive and I'm looking forward to it."

The 32-year-old said he would leave with fond memories though and acknowledged how his spell out west had been of benefit.

"If I hadn't gone there I don't think it would have happened (making a Socceroos squad) so I'll always look back on it fondly and I had a good time even though it was short and sweet," McBreen added.

Meanwhile, Glory are waiting for answers from several out of contract players over whether they intend to stay. These include Wayne Srhoj, Andy Todd and Steven McGarry.
