PERTH Glory midfielder Steven McGarry has signed a new contract to remain with Perth Glory until the end of next season.
Glory coach Ian Ferguson said he was "really pleased to have Steven on board.
“Steven is a clever player and a goal scoring midfielder who made a big difference to our team when he played an attacking role.
“Retaining Steven was important and I glad we’ve been able to hold onto him.”
Likewise, McGarry, 32, said he was happy to play a third season for Perth Glory after joining the club in January 2010.
“I am delighted to sign a contract extension,” McGarry said. “It’s great to be involved in a club that had such a great end to the season.
“The possible prospect of playing in the Asian Champions League is exciting and a big step forward for the club.
“My preference was always to stay with Perth Glory in a city that has made me and my family extremely welcome.
McGarry was instrumental in Perth Glory’s championship run to the Hyundai A-League Grand Final scoring four goals.
Moved into a more attacking midfield role – just behind the striker – the team lost just three out of the next 17 games.
