MELBOURNE Victory coach Mehmet Durakovic is sticking with his tried and trusted winners from last week's stunning triumph as he looks to keep his side on a roll.
Petar Franjic is the only change and comes in for suspended Roddy Vargas, said Durakovic after training today.
"We really played well last week, so that's the change we'll make," he said. "We won't make too many changes because we've got to keep this consistency going.
"I don't want to make too many changes. We've had to make changes due to injuries and suspensions and international duties.
"We need to build on it and keep the consistency going. We want to keep the same team as much as possible."
Veteran defender Vargas was needlessly red-carded last week in the 3-2 heart-stopping win over Gold Coast, but it gives teenager Franjic another chance to shine.
Striker Jean Carlos Solorzano set to play in the youth team but central forward Danny Allsopp will travel with the squad to the Hunter.
Durakovic said he was going to the Hunter to win the contest and would not be satisfied with a draw, though in reality that would be a good result given the difficulty the side has had over the years against the Jets.
"All week we've been focusing on the intensity and tempo," said Durakovic. "Now we've got to build on it.
"And going to Newcastle it's not going to be easy. If we can pick up something in Newcastle to come back to Melbourne and we've got the next three out of four games in Melbourne."
If Victory can maintain the intensity they showed in part against Gold Coast, Durakovic said he'd be happy and results will come.
And the likelihood of Gary van Egmond's Jets playing a 3-4-3 is something he's ready for.
"Every game we want to win but having said that we've got to be careful. Gary's doing a great job but we'll be doing our best to get a result there."
Durakovic said Harry Kewell's tight hamstring - which saw him subbed off after an hour of last weekend's win - had improved markedly.
And with scoring his first goal, Kewell has that monkey off his back.
Durakovic added: "The hamstring tightness has gone away and hopefully he'll play much, much
more this week. He's a true professional."
