SCOTTISH trialist Charlie Miller put on a 75-minute masterclass as his club Queensland played out an otherwise dour 1-1 draw with Wellington on the Sunshine Coast.
In Roar's second A-League pre-season cup match at Stockland Park on Sunday, Miller's touch was at times sublime as he intelligently linked between midfield and a forward line featuring the impressive Dutch Serginho Van Dijk.
Miller, 32, spent six years with Glasgow Rangers during the 90s before spells in Scandinavia, England and Belgium. His talent as a skilful playmaker has marked him out as continuing a fine tradition of Scottish flair.
Roar officials were tightlipped about Miller's future at the club, adding he wouldn't be talking to the media until a decision was announce over the next week or two.
However, Roar midfielder Massimo Murdocca admitted after the game against Phoenix that Miller's contribution was key in the Roar game plan.
"Charlie's sitting in there now and it allows Matty [McKay] and myself to link up a bit more," said Murdocca.
An interested spectator in yesterday's 3000-plus crowd was Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg.
