MIRON Bleiberg isn't about to take a vow of silence but the Gold Coast United boss is more interested in action than talk as the A-League new boys bid to make their title charge.
With four of their final seven games at Skilled Park, startingĀ on Saturday against Adelaide United and swiftly followed by Newcastle Jets' visit next Wednesday, Bleiberg says his determined group of players know exactly what is required of them if they are to secure silverware this term.
"There isn't much that the players need to hear from me in terms of our situation because the picture is very clear when you look at the ladder," said Bleiberg.
"They are all professionals and they know what has to be done if we are to achieve our aims for the season.
"We have the players to do well and our form is good. It's up to them to produce what they are all capable of now."
For Saturday's clash with Aurelio Vidmar's United, Gold Coast will be without two of the starting side that thrashed derby rivals Brisbane Roar on Boxing Day, with midfield schemer Steve Pantelidis suspended and speedy wing-back Adama Traore sidelined for a fortnight with an ankle injury.
Traore will be replaced by Brazilian, Anderson, but Bleiberg remains tight-lipped on Pantelidis' deputy after naming a provisional 17-man squad for the clash.
Former Adelaide United defender, Kristian Rees, who after a string of near misses netted a long-awaited brace in Gold Coast's 5-1 triumph overĀ Roar, says he has one eye on adding to his tally for the season, which would double as a belated birthday present for the big defender who turned 30 this week.
"I finally managed to get a couple of goals in our last game, so of course it would be nice to get another one against my old club this week," he said.
"Miron always encourages both myself and Thwaitey to get forward for set plays and it paid off against the Roar.
"There is always a little bit of extra motivation when you play against your old club, but for me this week it's all about getting the three points we need to move further up the table."
Despite Adelaide's lowly position on the A-League ladder, Rees warned that complacency would be Gold Coast's worst enemy against the Reds, who will be looking to finish the season on a high and take their battle for a finals spot down to the wire.
"Adelaide are in a tough position at the moment, but I'm sure they can work their way out of it and we can't take anything for granted against them," he added.
"They still have a lot of quality in their side and they will be dangerous, make no mistake about that. They play good style of football and they can create chances, so we really do have to be on our guard and concentrate for the whole 90 minutes.
"They won against the Roar at Suncorp Stadium when no-one expected them to and you have to approach every match in the same way in this league, which is to make sure you're on top of your game."
