A match against Beijing Guoan at the Bird's Nest Stadium in June is one of the matters for discussion but Bleiberg also sees the trip as a useful way of pushing the case for Chinese stars to tread the A-League boards - specifically with Gold Coast.

The A-League has seen the likes of Mark Bridge, Mark Milligan and Joel Griffiths all head for China recently and while Bleiberg has no issue with that, he is keen to try and see the flow of players work the other way.

"There is a time when the Chinese season is over when we could give their players the opportunity here. They benefit from the experience and hopefully so do we.

"Our (Gold Coast) players could also go over there when our season is over and hopefully the arrangement gives us a better chance of keeping the players we want in this country," Bleiberg told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Gold Coast pre-season training gets underway on April 7 and Bleiberg cannot wait to get started, even though day one will hardly be a full roll call.

"Obviously we have the likes of Jason (Culina), Joel (Porter) and others still playing football elsewhere," he said. "If it was up to me I'd love to tell them all to come over right now but unfortunately that's not possible.

"Then there is the issue of transition. Players have to finish their season and then they are having to get used to a new challenge in another part of the world. We are dealing with human beings, not computers."

Despite the vast majority of spots in the inaugural squad now filled, Bleiberg is still looking for some local state league talent to fit the bill.

He added: "I would be very happy to bring in the next Sasa Ognenovski, Rody Vargas or Shannon Cole (all former state league players)."
