PERTH Glory boss Dave Mitchell hailed the depth of his squad after the win over Central Coast Mariners and said it would need a 'Houdini' act for Brisbane Roar to deny them a finals spot.
Two Daniel McBreen goals set Glory on the road to victory and Mitchell was delighted - even though the club's finals spot isn't quite mathematically secure.
"I think it would be a Houdini act if they (Brisbane) got in from here," said Mitchell.
"I think once we cement ourselves (in the six) we'll go for fourth spot and if we get it, no one will want to place us that's for sure."
The win was even more impressive given Tando Velaphi, skipper Jacob Burns and Mile Sterjovski were all unavailable through injury.
"It's a credit to Tony Sage. He said what do you need to make the squad better and we've gone out and targeted certain players.
"I think the depth we now have in the squad is the best it's been since I've been coach," said Mitchell.
