Mitchell said the camp, which is part of a $1 million, two-year partnership between Glory and GNS China, would be vital.

"In China he'll be the main part of the shape and working on the team tactics," Mitchell told AAP.

"We've got to be careful with Robbie that we don't overwork him.

"He's done most of the things and he's had a bit of a rest in the last couple of days which is good."

The coach also praised the down-to-earth approach of Fowler. No big time Charlie in the Glory camp.

"The good thing about Robbie is he's very level-headed, he's not a big head," added Mitchell.

"He's been a world star but has got two feet firmly planted on the ground."

Glory will play one match during their stay in China, against Tianjin Teda.
