Perth must make the daunting trip to Westpac Stadium to face a Phoenix side that has forgotten what it's like to lose at home.

Glory boss Mitchell sees plenty of threats in the Phoenix side, from back to front, but that doesn't mean it is mission impossible.

"It was important for us to regenerate the club and get in the finals," Mitchell told au.fourfourtwo.com. "People talk about us recruiting well, which we have done, but they didn't come in until late in the (pre) season.

"We've been playing well over the last month, we're confident we can go there and give it a good shake. It'll be a big occasion, one we're looking forward to taking part in and hopefully we can get the win."

Mitchell has pointed to the contributions of Daniel McBreen and Steve McGarry in helping push the club into their first finals campaign.

"During the last five weeks, players have come in and performed very well," he said. "It shows the importance of having a bit of depth.

"Steven McGarry's come in the midfield and done very well. He's been a bit of an unknown quantity for a lot of people. Mcbreen has been banging in the goals as well."

As for their hosts, Mitchell can point to numerous players that have impressed him in the Phoenix side this season.

"They've a lot of good players," he said. "Paul Ifill has been outstanding signing for them, Chris Greenacre works tirelessly closing people down, Tim Brown gets forward  from midfield and scores goals, and then you've Mckain and Durante at the back.

"Ricki has recruited well and that's what you have to do. You can't rely on DVD's and just agents. You have to get out there and eyeball a player, see their character."

Glory have several injury concerns ahead of the game but Mitchell is not prepared to gamble.

He added: "I won't play them if they're not fit."
