BRISBANE Roar skipper Craig Moore is urging supporters to get behind the club and insists the picture is not all doom and gloom at Suncorp Stadium.
Moore returns from suspension for Friday night's clash against Newcastle Jets, the first home game in charge for new coach Ange Postecoglou and Roar want to end a run of four successive defeats to get back into the top six.
Now the skipper has promised strong support from the stands will be repaid by the team on the pitch.
"After four straight defeats it's very important to get a win and Friday night would be a great time for that," he said. "Hopefully we can also pull in a crowd as well, because (the last few haven't) been ideal.
"Hopefully we can get some support and we can show them a good game, but to get the three points as well I think is really important."
Despite the recent run of results, Moore said there is still plenty of belief in the squad that the team will make the finals.
"Nobody within this club is talking about anything but getting out of this situation," he said.
"There's still plenty of time for that to happen, but Friday night, first and foremost, is a very important game for us that we really need to win to get us lifted and to start building from."
After sitting out last week's match, Moore said he was looking forward to helping the team get three points in the bag.
"I thought for the whole of the game (against Sydney) the team that played competed extremely well and were very unfortunate not to come away with anything at the end," he said.
"So it's not all doom and gloom. The work rate and the effort that the boys put in is what the new coach wanted to see and he got that in abundance. Now it's about getting results.
"We've not fielded our strongest team for a long time and we're still all extremely confident."
The Socceroos defender said it was far too early to be writing off the team's chances.
He added: "We've seen the league this season, if you can go three or four games, wins especially, then you're right back in the mix."
