Cameron Watson is confident the Moreland Zebras can spring another FFA Cup upset and beat Brisbane Strikers on Wednesday night.
History-makers Moreland will take on the Strikers at Perry Park in the FFA Cup quarter-finals.
The Zebras, who are in Victoria's NPL2, are the first third division club to ever reach the final eight of the Cup.
The former NSL outfit defeated Bulleen Lions in the round of 32 and another Queensland NPL side, in Mackay & Whitsundays Magpies Crusaders United, in the round of 16 to advance.
Ex-A-League midfielder Watson believes Moreland can keep their fairytale Cup run going.
"It will be a great night for the club," he told FTBL.
"We definitely can get something from the game. Knockout games always bring out the best in teams...We know they are a good side as we’ve seen them play in the cup, and online in their local competition.
"It’s very exciting for the club and of course the players."
Watson joined the Zebras last year after two years playing in India. The former Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets player made more than 100 appearances in the A-League.
The 32-year has been a key figure for Moreland this season and provided experience for what is a young squad, which includes 17-year-old Lucien Ibanda and striker Tommy Barforosh.
"We have a very good mix I think," Watson said.
"Our youngest boy is 17 (Lucian) who I think potentially could have a good career if he progresses well. As well as Tommy Barforosh who has been scoring quite frequently and is 20 I think.
"Then we have good experience players such as Matt Whatley, Jakob Williams, Trey Sadler and Fraser Chalmers."
Watson praised the influence of the Zebras' coaching staff, which includes former Socceroos Fausto de Amicis and Mike Peterson.
"Fausto has been great this season with everyone," he said.
"Himself, Nick Crivelli and Micky Peterson go to all lengths to help prepare the team as best as possible. Obviously their football backgrounds speak for themselves. Fausto likes to have the ball as much as possible but with every intention of going forward quick and with purpose.
"It’s very enjoyable playing under him. He's a great guy, very passionate and humble."
