SUSPENDED Victory skipper Kevin Muscat still hopes to play a key role in Melbourne's match against Roar even from the sidelines.
Muscat's banned for the match but he's travelled north with his team to play his part as assistant coach.
"It’s not ideal as there’s no doubt I’d much prefer to be playing," Muscat said. "But I still feel part of the team by being here, and I still feel I can have an influence and contribute.
"We’ve got three good inclusions with Rodrigo, Steve and Sebastian, and Steven Pace has been doing so well in defence, there are a number of things we can do.
"Depending on what Ernie decides, we might push someone into the midfield and possibly get them closer to the front two of Danny Allsopp and Archie Thompson."
Victory is looking to record its fourth win of the season against Queensland, with coach Ernie Merrick declaring the side needs to create more attacking opportunities from the midfield in order to improve on its record of 12 goals from as many matches this season.
"We don't score enough goals and I think if we leave the responsibility for scoring goals on two players, Archie Thompson and Danny Allsopp, then it's pretty easy to close those players down," Merrick said.
"There's no doubt we have to funnel into the penalty box, give quality passes in there and get people that want to finish for us."
