Olyroos star Musialik is on his way back after his appendix surgery but was presented with the contract offer while still trying to recover.

Now he's happy to take his time before deciding his future.

"I love Newcastle and that's where I grew up," he told Sydney's Daily Telegraph.

"But they put a little bit of pressure on me when I only wanted to focus on my fitness and being healthy again."

He added: "There was a time there that I didn't know what was happening.

"I couldn't eat. I lost weight and had stomach cramps. I had been getting pain in my stomach for about 18 months.

"The specialist thought it may have been my appendix but I was told not to rush it and have it taken out while I was still playing.

"When I got back from Lebanon I had some more tests and eventually had the operation."

Now he's prepared to wait for the right offer before making his mind up on where he plays next.

"The decision I make will have a massive impact on how my career pans out," he said.

"I am taking my time. I know I'll have to sign with an A-League club."
