The Nike Chance world trial featured 100 unsigned players from around the world training for three days in London.  Despite the back complaint, Rogic impressed coaches and made it through from the initial 100 into the final 32.

The 18-year-old ACT-based Futsalroo was then one of eight players who won a professional contract at the Nike Academy in England beginning this July.

However, Rogic conceded if the three-day trial had gone on longer he would’ve struggled to continue.

“I’m not sure what the injury is so I’m having an ultrasound to see what it is. Hopefully we clear it up and we go from there. I was grateful it was only three days of trials,” he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Last week he underwent the scan to ascertain the extent of the injury. He heads to the UK to take up his professional contract on July 1 at the Loughborough University campus-based academy.

Rogic has  been putting his feet up since he returned from London a fortnight ago but has been kept busy by his new-found fame. “There’s been a lot of media interviews and stories about me, so it’s pretty crazy," he said.

And he’s still on a high from the whole experience.

“The players we met, the places we got to go and the experiences training  and the pressure of having 99 other players wanting the contract," he said. “It was full on, a pretty unbelievable experience.

“Moving to England is going to be a big step. It’s pretty unbelievable that we could be playing against EPL reserve teams.”
