YOUNG Perth Glory striker Nikita Rukavytsya has been invited to trial with German Bundesliga side Hannover 96.
Rukavytsya is contracted to Perth for next season but has been granted permission by coach Dave Mitchell, who is in Europe scouting talent for the Glory’s next campaign, to fly to Germany.
“This is an opportunity for Nikita to further his football education during the Hyundai A-League off season,” said Perth Glory CEO Scott Gooch.
Rukavytsya enjoyed a good debut season with Perth where he plundered six goals while also playing a role in the Olyroos Olympic qualifying campaign.
A recent invitation to the Socceroos training camp in Singapore under new national coach Pim Verbeek confirmed he is a player with a bright football future.
Gooch added: “Nikita is one of a host of outstanding young players at our club who have clearly benefited from the environment we’ve established in Perth.
“It is a big year for Nikita, he’ll be looking to back-up his performances in the league and also secure a place at the Beijing games.
“As a club we’re willing to let our young players expand their football horizons however we strongly believe Nikita’s development will continue to be fast tracked under the watchful eye of Dave Mitchell, an international class striker himself, for at least the next A-League season”
