A-League clubs are currently engaged in a frenzy of recruiting - or attempted recruiting.

Earlier this week Sydney FC coach John Kosmina voiced concerns that players bring shopped around by agents was a real distraction for individuals.

Petrovski is one of the many players who must decide whether to stick or twist but he has been in the game long enough not to fall into the trap of taking his eye off the ball in front of him.

As he prepared for tonight's F3 derby against Newcastle Jets, he told au.fourfourtwo.com: "The Mariners have made an offer and my agent is looking at it.

"You have an agent you trust to look at these situations and as a player it's important to stay focused, stay strong and not allow yourself to become distracted.

"I've seen it happen in my career where it has affected other players and you don't want that."

The Mariners are not thought to be the only club chasing Petrovski's services and the player himself feels he has plenty to offer, wherever he eventually decides is best for him.

He said: "I feel as fit as I've ever done."
