The Queensland boss remains positive that his side is very much on the right track and insists that fine margins will rule the Hyundai A-League this term.

“As I’ve maintained all along, the league is going to be very tight this year and so far there’s only been one home win in twelve games over three rounds," he said.

"That’s not meant as justification for us failing to find the target on Thursday night, but what it’s illustrating is how hard goals are to come by for anyone this year."

He added: “Poor old Perth Glory haven’t scored once and they’ll be under the same scrutiny I expect, as will Sydney FC.

"We’re certainly disappointed that we didn’t find the net last week, especially at home, but we are only three rounds into the season so there’s definitely no need to panic.

“At the end of the day the performance of the team in the opening three games has been enormously positive. I’d be really concerned if we weren’t creating chances because then we would have something to worry about.”

Roar have been dominant for long periods in all three of their outings so far and Farina remains confident that possession will soon be turned into goals, providing the squad continues to work as hard as they have been.

“I’m happy and comfortable with where we’re at and I have no doubts whatsoever that this will all turn around," he said.

"Sooner or later the chances will go in and as I’ve said to the boys this morning, we just have to make sure that we maintain the work ethic we have shown so far in both training and matches.

“If we continue on as we have been then we’re going to have a game where it all goes right for us and someone is going to be on the end of a bit of a touch-up. Personally, I don’t think that day is too far away."

He added: “When your luck is in, it’s in. It could be said that a couple of teams have ridden their luck lately and that won’t last forever.

"The same applies in reverse and we’ve certainly been a little unlucky at times, but if we keep playing the way we have been and keep creating chances, it will turn in our favour.

"I have no doubt about that because we’re on the right track.”

Farina was quick to point out that despite the lack of a victory in the early stages of the new campaign, suggestions of a crisis situation were bordering on the ridiculous.

“We are three games into the season and whilst we appreciate that supporters and pundits are passionate about the game you have to keep a sense of realism,” he said.

“I’ve been around football long enough to know that things change very quickly.

"We’d love to be top of the league on nine points like the Mariners and so would every other club."

But he added: "The reality is that not everyone can be there.

"The message I’d like to give to our supporters is this: You’ve seen the games, you’ve seen how well the team is playing and when the finals shake-up comes at the end of the season we’ll be there, I have no doubts about that.”
