With the short trip up the freeway to Suncorp Stadium now dominating his thoughts, Djite was complimentary about Brisbane's season so far, but was quick to add that he and his teammates hold no fear of their closest rivals, despite their lengthy unbeaten run.

"It's a massive game and Brisbane Roar have been doing extremely well so far this season so they deserve the praise they've been getting," Djite said

"But we're not daunted by the task of going to Suncorp Stadium whatsoever.

"Everyone is looking forward to the game and we can't wait to get out there and play against the team who are top of the table.

"They're big rivals and we want to show that we're better on the day and take the points.

"After missing out on what was going to be a fantastic day against the Mariners last Sunday, this game has taken on even more importance for us.

"It will be a good clash; there's no doubt about that. The Roar are playing some really nice attacking football and they're obviously working really hard.

"But we're also working hard and some things haven't quite gone for us this season with injuries and so forth.

"However, we have faith in ourselves and we believe we can go there and get the result we're after.

"For me - I'm confident going into the game and I don't see any reason why we can't get all three points and be the first team to beat them in quite a while."

Also high on Djite's agenda is forging a partnership with Joel Porter. Injury setbacks to both players at different times have prevented the attacking duo from enjoying game time together, but Djite says this is the week – all being well!

"When I came here Ports was injured, then when he came back I hurt my hamstring so I was out," he said. "Then I got fit and he got injured again!

"After that we both got fit and the game was abandoned after 20 minutes! It's become a bit of a standing joke, but hopefully Boxing Day is the day when we finally get our partnership up and running.

"Joel is a top player and I'm really looking forward to getting our combinations going.

"We both want to score more goals and we'll be doing a bit more work on the training field to get our understanding going in the right direction and be ready for the Roar."
