FORMER Queensland Roar striker Simon Lynch has failed to earn himself a contract with Scottish side Partick Thistle.
After featuring in the pre-season matches as a triallist manager Ian McCall has decided not to offer Lynch a place in his squad.
Thistle, now home to former Melbourne Victory defender Simon Storey, believe the forward does not fit the criteria they are looking for.
McCall told www.ptfc.co.uk: "I've spoken to Simon Lynch and have told him that we won't be signing him. Simon is a good player and while I'm sure that he would score goals for us I feel that he is just too similar to Mark Roberts.
"We really need someone who is different in style. We need a striker who is a bit quicker and carries a more physical threat.
"I would like to thank Simon for his efforts during pre-season and wish him all the best for the future."
