GOLD Coast United supremo Clive Palmer doesn't care if other clubs are queuing up to try and snatch Shane Smeltz - they'll all get the same answer.
Smeltz, who claimed the Johnny Warren Medal on Monday night, has been linked with two moves to Turkey in recent weeks but United are not remotely concerned.
Palmer told goldcoast.com.au: "The fact approaches like this are materialising shows that we have the best striker in the league and I can assure you he isn't going anywhere other than the Gold Coast. I'm not tempted in the slightest to let him go, or for that matter any of our signings.
"We aim to win the league in our first year, in fact we will win it, and that won't be accomplished by letting players of Shane's calibre leave before they have even arrived.
"I'm OK with people making an approach (for Smeltz) because I know what our reaction is."
United also had to fend off speculation recently that Adam Griffiths could be Asia-bound before he had even arrived at Skilled Park.
Smeltz, Griffiths and the rest of United's squad will report for their first training session at the club on April 7.
