CLIVE Palmer has no intention of turning his back on Gold Coast United and rubbished reports that claimed he was looking to throw in the towel at Skilled Park.
There had been rumours and media reports that Palmer might look to hand back the A-League licence and that other groups were looking to acquire United. Not so, says the billionaire.
The United owner has expressed his determination to remain at the helm and is full of optimism about the remainder of the campaign.
"I own the club and no one has contacted me about the rumours," Palmer told the Courier Mail.
Palmer said he was doing nothing of the sort (quitting). "I don't know why people throw so much mud at the club," he added.
As for the football, Palmer still believes United can beat Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory to the A-League toilet seat.
He said United could take great heart from having already beaten Sydney and run Melbourne close.
Gold Coast resume their A-League campaign on Saturday with a home clash against Adelaide United.
