GOLD Coast United owner Clive Palmer is poised to fly in for the start of pre-season training tomorrow after a close season dominated by off-field dramas at the club.
There has been endless speculation surrounding United with talk that Palmer was ready to hand back the club's licence.
The message from the club has been 'business as usual' but the media is expected to have the opportunity to ask the man himself about his thoughts and plans for the future when Miron Bleiberg and his players resume training.
Bleiberg himself is keen to ditch the club's 'glamour' tag this season with more focus on community engagement and less talk about private jets and the like.
Speaking to goldcoast.com.au recently he said: ""We have had a flashy reputation in the past and that won't be the case anymore.
"We want to be and we want to feel like a community club.
"We do a lot more in that area than people imagine but we know we have to do more and we will.
"The perception that the club is just Clive's private toy is wrong."
