GOLD Coast United owner Clive Palmer has told Football Federation Australia his side WILL be part of the A-League next season.
Reports last month said Gold Coast United would fold and the FFA would not step in to save the club after a disappointing opening season.
Although the club finished third in the league, crowds at Robina Stadium were tiny even after the FFA took over matchday marketing.
But today the FFA said they had been assured by Palmer that the club would be staying in the A-League next season.
FFA CEO Ben Buckley welcomed the confirmation and the stability it will bring to the competition.
"I am delighted that we are able to end any speculation and continue our planning for the sixth season of the Hyundai A-League season with 11 teams in the competition," Buckley said.
"With a brand new club there are always challenges but Gold Coast United and FFA have been working constructively to build a solid football platform on the Gold Coast for the future.
"Gold Coast United will continue to be a competitive team in the Hyundai A-League and we will work with them to develop further community and sponsorship support and build on the achievements of the first year.
"With the recent turnaround in North Queensland, the commitment from Gold Coast United will see us continue to strengthen the football footprint in Queensland."
