Real Madrid defender Pepe is anticipating an "intense" final two months of the season as Jose Mourinho`s chase honours on three fronts.
Madrid have not won any silverware since 2008 but they have a chance of ending that barren spell this term as they are in the final of the Copa del Rey, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and second in La Liga, five points behind Barcelona.
Mourinho`s side kept the heat up on Barca with a 2-1 derby victory over Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon last night, but the big matches will start to come thick and fast following the international break.
In their final nine games in La Liga, Madrid face hard away trips to Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal, while they must also play Barca and local rivals Getafe at home.
As well as that, Madrid meet bitter rivals Barca in the Copa del Rey final, and could also face Pep Guardiola`s men in the semi-finals of the Champions League if they both get through their respective quarter-final ties. Madrid take on Tottenham while Barca face Shakhtar Donetsk.
Pepe said: "The next two months will be intense. We will try to live up to the challenge and make our fans happy. Whilst there`s a chance, we will fight to the very end. That`s what the coach and our supporters ask us to do."
Looking ahead to the clash with Spurs, which will see nine-time European champions Madrid playing in the quarter-finals for the first time in seven years, Pepe said: "Our tie with Tottenham will be difficult and we'll have to be good to get through. We will try to do our best to reach the final, which is so important for Madrid."
Regarding the Copa del Rey final, Pepe added on his club`s website: "Against Barcelona we`ll play a great game. Everyone will be watching."
Meanwhile, Madrid director general Jorge Valdano said they were "optimistic" about agreeing a new contract with Pepe.
The Portugal international's current deal runs out in 2012 and he has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu, but Valdano said following the win over Atletico: "Pepe is one of the best centre-backs in the world and we are optimistic about his renewal."
