PERTH Glory legend Bobby Despotovski has launched a blistering attack over the state of his beloved club and accused people of "taking the piss" out of owner Tony Sage.
Glory endured a miserable season after such high pre-season expectations. Dave Mitchell stepped down with Ian Ferguson taking charge, but the team slumped to second last.
Sage ordered a full review of club operations, although Despotovski feels it would not have been necessary if the right "football" people had been appointed to key roles.
“They’re just sucking the blood out of this ‘cash cow' and one day Tony Sage is going to turn around and cut his losses,” Despotovski said on SportFM’s Let’s Talk Football program, reported perthnow.
“Something is drastically wrong at this club because whoever is making the decisions is either taking the piss out of Tony Sage or taking the piss out the football public in Perth.
“If this were any other club anywhere in the world, the coaching staff by now would be completely gone.”
Despotovski blasted Dave Mitchell for his role this season and said he should hold his hands up for some of the responsibility this year.
