PERTH Glory's new CEO believes the unique passion generated by the club's fans and staff can be harnessed to help generate success.
Paul Kelly is preparing to start work at ME Bank Stadium and he steps into the role full of optimism, stressing the need for the A-League club to get on board the ride generated by the World Cup next year.
Glory have yet to enjoy any success in the A-League but Kelly is leading the charge to to change that.
"There's a lot of passion around the club and it's a matter of pulling that all together," he he told The West Australian. "They've got to be the most passionate supporters in the league and Tony is very passionate about the club.
"He believes in this club and if we can harness that, the potential is huge. Tony's vision is fantastic and we've got to get it right,"
As for World Cup excitement, he hopes the build up to South Africa will see one or two Socceroos dropping into Perth.
He added: "It would be great to get some Socceroos here before the World Cup to generate momentum.
"I reckon Perth is crying out for that, for a Tim Cahill or a Harry Kewell stopping in here."
