SASHO Petrovski could be making the short switch along the F3 from Central Coast Mariners to Newcastle Jets after failing to reach a deal with the Gosford outfit.
The striker has reportedly failed to reach agreement with his current club over the length of contract and the Mariners insist their position is final.
Coach Lawrie McKinna told the Daily Telegraph: "We gave permission for Sash to talk to Newcastle. He wants a two year contract but we're only prepared to give him another year.
"We met last week and we are not willing to budge."
If the Jets do land their man then it would come as Joel Griffiths prepares to depart for a new challenge in China next week.
Also being linked with the Jets is Adelaide United defender Ang Costanzo.
