Alanna Kennedy - 6

Similar to Alleway, with a few goals up, your goalkeeper had a fair bit to do as the last line of defence. Centre-backs needed to prevent the breaks which happened, but the one goal will flatter the defence.

Ellie Carpenter - 7

Did not take part in the Melbourne game, however the teenager managed a full game. She battled with her opponents well and looked faster than her opponent Xu Yanlu. Switched back into a left-back role in the second half and could’ve bagged a goal going forward

Caitlin Foord - 7.5

Once again looked agile, she played out 90 minutes in the first game… was involved in the Matildas’ first two goals and looked hungry to create more opportunities for the forwards throughout the game.

Chloe Logarzo - 6.5

The energetic midfielder managed to get her first ever goal for the Matildas in the second half but it was on a silver platter from Sam Kerr. Aside from that, did not really stand out

Emily van Egmond - 6.5

Was quiet and China were able to get some breaks while she was on the park. Whenever she had the ball she was able to find a target. She had a good free kick to tee up Sam Kerr’s second goal and managed just over an hour before coming off.

Katrina Gorry - 6

Mini managed 64 minutes and looked pretty quiet for her standards.
