SYDNEY FC have parted company with Mitchell Prentice after the 26-year-old sought an early release from the final three months of his contract at Moore Park.
The 26-year-old was contracted through to 31 March 2010, but asked for an early release, which was agreed to by Sydney FC late this week.
The versatile defender/midfielder made eight appearances for Sydney FC after joining the club from Perth Glory at the start of the 2008/09 season.
However, he has had to look on from the sidelines this season and now the two parties have decided to go their separate ways.
"It is disappointing that Mitch decided he wanted to leave Sydney FC but we respect his decision and wish him luck," said coach Vitezslav Lavicka.
