Sekulovski is better placed than most to assess the changes at Glory, having been there from the start.

He is convinced the development of facilities off the pitch, combined with the owner's willingness to put his complete faith in the coach is paying off.

"I think credit has to go to Mitch and to Tony (Sage), Tony giving mitch full reign in terms of personnel on the park and things he wanted off the park," the player told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"I've been at the club six years and can see the differences."

Big names have been secured on the park with efforts off the field to match, according to Sekulovski.

"Physios, doctors, masseurs and facilities are a big thing. It's a combination of all of that, which probably wasn't there early on," he said.

"Now that's come together and that can only put us in the right frame of mind. You don't buy a Ferrari and then not take it to get a service.

"I think one of the other A-League coaches made the point that player management will play a big role in this season as there's more game time."

Glory kick off their campaign against North Queensland Fury tomorrow night and Sekulovski is expecting a tough test, despite all the wooden spoon predictions surrounding the Townsville outfit.

"There's interest obviously with Robbie Fowler and Fergie having come from the Fury franchise," he said. "It should be an interesting battle. Hopefully we get a bumper crowd on Friday night.

"I'm sure the Shed boys will get behind Robbie and all the players. The Shed is an icon of not only A-League football but Australian football in general.

"To have them behind us, and that's no disrespect to the rest of our fans, it's something special."

Glory are anxious to get off to a good start, something they haven't managed too well in past years but the players are taking nothing for granted.

"History shows you cannot underestimate any team," added Sekulovski. "Fury are an unknown quantity. There's not been much noise out of their camp but I'm sure they'll be up for it Friday night."
