Jedinak will rejoin his team-mates for tonight’s pre-season trial match against NSW Super League side the Northern Tigers after his six-week stay with the national team.

Jedinak, along with new signing Adrian Caceres, is one of two fresh inclusions in the Mariners’ line up to face the Tigers, while as many as seven first team candidates will again watch from the sidelines due to injury, national team commitments or suspension.

Positively, striker Nik Mrdja is a strong possibility to make his first appearance of the Mariners’ pre-season trial match program against Newcastle Jets at Canberra Stadium on Saturday, 12 July, while Paul O’Grady and Greg Owens have each progressed with their respective injury concerns.

Nigel Boogaard and Matt Simon will arrive in Sydney from their stay in Darwin with the Beijing-bound Qantas Under 23’s simultaneous to tonight’s match, while Danny Vukovic is ineligible due to suspension.

Marksman Dylan Macallister, the Mariners’ top goal scorer in pre-season thus far, will miss tonight’s match with a minor hamstring strain that is not expected to keep the former international away from competitive action for longer than one week.

However, Jedinak’s return to the Mariners’ fold is a major positive for the yellow and navy’s season four preparations.

Jedinak said: "Last week I had a bit of time off and now I’m raring to go.

"I’m looking forward to easing my way into our trial games, hopefully having a crack at the Pre-Season Cup, which I’m sure the coaching staff want us to do well at, and looking forward to being with the boys again and getting those wins on the board."

Jedinak has missed each of the Mariners’ pre-season trial matches to date by virtue of contributing to Australia’s 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification quest.

While with the national team, Jedinak was an unused substitute for three of Australia’s first five group matches before starting the Qantas Socceroos’ final qualification match against China PR at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium.

Jedinak’s cap against China PR was his third for his country at senior level, following starts against Singapore in March and against Ghana in May.

"I was lucky enough to play against China and just enjoyed it, unfortunately we didn’t get the result, but overall it was a great experience," said Jedinak

"It can only better you, being around that atmosphere and that environment 24/7 and seeing the intensity at training, it was a great benefit to me and something that I look forward to doing in the future."
