With the rules on substitutions relaxed for the game (up to seven can be used) Farina has named all his available players with most expected to get game time in what will be Roar’s final trial game of the pre-season.

However, Andrew Packer (hamstring) and Robbie Kruse (facial injury) will not be risked.

”Everyone who is able to play will play at some point on Friday night,” said Farina.

“This is an important game for us because it will be our last game before the opening Hyundai A-League game next weekend,” he added.

Under the stewardship of Brazilian Coach Airton Andrioli the Solomon Islands will present stiff opposition according to Farina, who has more knowledge than most on the Oceania minnows.

“They’ll be good opponents for us and it’s another great opportunity to bring match fitness up and also to keep working on what we’ve been doing so far in terms of how we’re going to play,” he said.

“There’s no doubt that the Solomon Islands will be more than a decent side. I’ve had a fair bit of experience when it comes to playing them and in the past they’ve made it tough even for the Socceroos.

“Their coach has said it will be a good test for them and I think it will be a good test for us too. We need a tough game as our last warm-up and hopefully this will be it,” said the Roar boss.

Marquee signing Craig Moore completed 45 minutes in Gosford last week and is pencilled in for an hour this time around.

Farina said he is happy with his star signing’s progress so far and the focus is to have him ready for Adelaide United on August 25.

Farina said: “We’ll see how the game is going and that will determine how long Craig will play, but the plan at this stage is for him to play for an hour. This is an important one for him to get some more game time under his belt.”

Moore himself is also happy with his first few weeks at the club, saying he is more than positive about his side’s prospects this term.

“So far, so good," he said. "I’m really looking forward to the league actually starting.

"Training is great for bringing fitness levels up but for me the excitement is in playing in a good competition and I’ve a really good feeling about this season.

“I’m happy with where I’m at personally and where the team is situated. We’re moving along nicely."

Meanwhile, Korean midfielder Hyuk-Su Seo has been handed a two-match suspension by Football Federation Australia (FFA) for his red card following an incident with Central Coast Mariners’ Nick Mrdja last weekend.

Seo will miss the opening fixture of the season against Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium and also the round two away clash against the Newcastle Jets.

“Both Mitch and Hyuk-Su will be involved tomorrow even though they’ll be missing next week,” said Farina.

“The two have played a lot in the Pre-Season Cup so fitness is not a major concern with them, but they do need competitive game time. That applies especially to Hyuk-Su because he’ll be missing for two weeks.”

“It’s disappointing to lose them and is certainly a blow, but this is just part and parcel of the game and we just have to get on with it.”
