EXCLUSIVE: Sasa Ognenovski has been promised a tough time on his return to Queensland Roar with a former teammate urging the crowd to give him plenty of verbal stick to put him off his game.
The Adelaide United defender will make his first appearance back in Brisbane on Sunday since moving on to join Aurelio Vidmar's men at the end of last season.
Never afraid to express an opinion, Ognenovski has already engaged in some pre-match banter with Michael Zullo. While Zullo said he was going to run at Ognenovski, the Adelaide defender retorted in the Brisbane press that the Roar youngster should concentrate on making sure his hair was pretty for the cameras.
While Ognenovski and Zullo are hardly big pals, the former counts Danny Tiatto as a friend.
However, Tiatto says friendship will be put aside for 90 minutes this weekend and the welcome mat certainly won't be laid out for the big defender.
Tiatto told au.fourfourtwo.com: "Sasa did a great job for Queensland Roar during his time here and I was disappointed to see him go.
"It'll be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets when he comes back. Will it be boos or cheers? Hopefully they (the fans) will give him some stick and that will hopefully put him off his game."
Tiatto feels Ognenovski will have more than the crowd to worry about on Sunday though.
He said: "One thing's for sure, I think he's certainly going to have his hands full. He's got to try and stop Sergio (Van Dijk), Tim Smits and then there's Reinaldo as well.
"He certainly won't have an easy ride. But it's not just about Sash. We have to focus on doing the right things and making sure we get off to a good start at home."
Tiatto's last encounter with Adelaide saw him red-carded in the final game of last season.
He said: "I lost my cool when I shouldn't have done and I think I've realised now that when you do go in for a challenge it has to be done as smart and as carefully as possible."
