It is no secret that Bleiberg has strong views over his exit from Suncorp Stadium and that simply adds fuel to the sense of anticipation of a United versus Roar derby.

"People will be very interested to see how the two new clubs, ourselves and the Fury, perform in their first season," Bleiberg told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"There will be a desire to show which is the best team in Queensland (of the two newcomers). So that is a rivalry, of course."

However, the Gold Coast boss feels geography and traditional rivalry will lead to a more heated rivalry between his team and Frank Farina's.

He said: "The two clubs are not so far apart and maybe you create more of a situation where you have the kind of rivalry that you could have with supporters following a sport in the west of Sydney and their rivals in eastern Sydney.

"I think the Gold Coast people have been fed up of seeing their talent disappear off to Brisbane. Now they have a side of their own to really get behind.

"I believe everyone is looking forward to it (the rivalry)."
