With the departures of Reinaldo and Simon Lynch - and the salary cap restraints forcing out two new potential Brazilians - the Brisbane outfit are still looking to bolster their goalscoring department.

Former Rangers man Miller, 32, is one of the options Farina is chasing but the old team-mate of Craig Moore is also being pursued by Dundee and St Johnstone.

However, the chance to link up with Moore again looks to have proven decisive and the UK's Daily Mail today claimed Miller was set to sign for Roar and spurn the Scottish clubs.

Farina told qldroar.com.au: "We’re looking at the attacking third. We’ve got some good young players in that attacking third but we need a little bit more experience as well.”

One player definitely secured for next season is young AIS central defender Luke DeVere.

Farina said: "He’s definitely a player that I think will do very well for us. I think (signing local talent) is very important.

"A lot of the time these kids just need opportunities and if they get an opportunity you’ll see the ones that are up to it will step up.”
