The July 1 fixture will give Queensland fans their first glimpse of the latest line-up, but Roar coach Frank Farina says the match will be an opportunity to test his side in an international capacity.

“They are one of the prominent teams within South Africa and for us it’s going to be a fantastic guide into international football at club level,” said Farina.

“If we ever qualify for Asia, this type of experience will be invaluable and it also stands as an insight into where we actually stand in relation to South African teams.

“We’ll be putting out the best possible team - we’re not going to have many games to help us prepare leading into not only the Pre-season Cup but the season proper. This game is against quality opposition and we’re going to put out the best team that we’ve got available at the time of the game.

“In a lot of ways it will most probably be a look into the season for us, so we’ll be putting out a very competitive side and taking the game very seriously. Hopefully we’ve got everyone on board and ready to go at the time of the game and fans can expect to see a very strong Roar side to go on the park.”

Ticket prices start at $8 and all profits from the match will go towards the Queensland Roars Against Racism awareness campaign. Kick-off will be at 3pm.
