The youngster is delighted to have agreed a two-year deal and believes he is in exactly the right place to develop his career.

"It was good to finally finalise my future. The contract talks had been playing on my mind. Now I can just concentrate on getting ready for the Asian Champions League match against Pohang," he told the Newcastle Herald.

Coach Gary van Egmond is also delighted the player has decided to remain in the Hunter and feels he can help make a good player even better.

"Like all good strikers he is not afraid to back himself. He is progressing well, but there is scope for him to get better," said van Egmond.

The club has yet to finalise a deal for Italian import Fabio Vignaroli.
