Dodd will become just the second player to reach the 100 game milestone for United (in all competitions), the attacking midfielder following retired defender Richie Alagich (121 appearances).

Dodd first joined United in April 2005 after arriving from Panionios in Greece, his first appearance for The Reds coming in the FIFA Club World Championship Qualifying Tournament.

Highlights of his career so far at Adelaide United have included scoring a hat trick in the 2007 AFC Champions League when he put three past Vietnamese champions Dong Tam Long An, while he was also a member of the Reds’ squad that played in and won the first ever Hyundai A-League match.

The 28-year-old also led The Reds to historic progression into the 2008 AFC Champions League Knockout Stage, and won his first Socceroos cap in 2006 due to outstanding form for United in the Hyundai A-League, scoring a goal on debut in an Asian Cup qualifier against Kuwait.

Of his 99 appearances for United, 20 have been as captain, and he will lead the team out for 2008/09 after being given the position permanently ahead of the upcoming season.

Further to his 100 game milestone, Dodd is also the current leading goal scorer for Adelaide United in the Hyundai A-League, having found the back of the net 13 times in the previous three seasons, one ahead of former striker Carl Veart.
