SHANE Smeltz is well aware of the World Cup's power as a shop window and the Gold Coast United striker is not hiding from the fact as he continues preparations for the tournament.
Smeltz is currently in camp in Auckland with New Zealand as the All Whites work towards next month's big kick off in South Africa.
The striker is first and foremost focused on doing his best for his country. But he also knows the world will be watching.
"I haven't hidden the fact that if an opportunity came along that was too hard to turn down I'd be up for it," Smeltz told the Dominion Post.
"Who knows what could come from the World Cup in June or after that, I'm not sure.
"That's not my focus, my focus is just to do well. But my club understands the situation I'm in."
Smeltz has been the subject of more than one offer from overseas but for the time being, remains a Gold Coast United player.
