The Perth Glory hitman is in London for the Olympics and can’t wait to play at the 77,000 capacity stadium, the home of football giants Manchester United.

“We’ve had a look at the stadium and it’s definitely special,” Smeltz said of the ground made famous by the likes of Wayne Rooney and Eric Cantona.

“You can feel the history and sense the legends who have played at this iconic venue.

“Tonight will be another memorable moment for New Zealand football and a game of real importance.”

In their final group game on Wednesday the Kiwis take on Brazil at St James’ Park, the home of Newcastle United.
