SHANE Smeltz says he cannot wait to start scoring goals for new club Genclerbirligi after completing his switch to the Turkish outfit from Gold Coast United.
The striker's capture has been announced on the club website and Smeltz is delighted at the switch.
"I'm very proud and honoured to be at this club," he told reporters in Turkey. "It's a fantastic club with a fantastic set-up and I can't wait to get started with the team."
However, there is still the potential issue of Chinese club Shandong Luneng. They argued they had a contract with Smeltz, who lasted less than a week in China before flying home.
Should the Chinese club succeed in its claim, Smeltz could yet be forced to sit on the sidelines for a period of time.
But for now, the New Zealand man is happy to have his club future sorted.
He added: "I'm really happy to be here and I want to help this team produce the best football they can, and I think this club deserves to be doing well in this league."
