MELBOURNE Victory have confirmed signing former Adelaide United midfielder Spase Dilevski on a one-year deal.
The versatile Dilevski enjoyed a spell at Brisbane Roar after stints with PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham, before heading back overseas to play for Romanian side Universitatea Craiova.
Melbourne-born Dilevski, 27, said he was delighted to be joining Victory after an injury-interrupted 2011/12 Hyundai A-League campaign with Adelaide.
"Being a Melbourne boy, I'm really excited to be moving back home and playing for Victory after so many years overseas and interstate," he said.
"I've worked under Ange (Postecoglou) at Australian Under-20s level and I'm delighted to be reunited with him and hopefully I can do a job for the team next season.
"Melbourne Victory's fans are amazing and it's going to be a real buzz playing in front of not only them, but my family also."
The signing of Dilevski comes after the departures of Grant Brebner and Carlos Hernandez, as well as the end of Mark Milligan's loan deal in the centre of midfield.
Victory coach Postecoglou said he was happy with the signing of Dilevski, who he hopes will provide an impact for his side in an area they struggled in last season.
"Spase is experienced beyond his years and can do a variety of different jobs in both midfield and defence," the former Brisbane Roar coach said.
"I've coached him before and he's a smart player and I think he will really compliment the squad we're starting to build."
Dilevski joins Sam Gallagher and Adama Traore as the club’s latest signings, with several places still to be filled before the start of the 2012/13 season.
