Dilevski is looking to get his career back on track after an injury-ravaged year with Adelaide United, and the defender is confident Brisbane's dual Championship-winning coach will bring his magic touch to their new club.

“I think we'll win it,” Dilevski told au.fourfourtwo.com. “We have a goal this season to win the league and the Grand Final and we really believe that.

“It was a great move in the sense that Ange came here and the boys he's brought in. The boys have gelled well together and bringing in a coach like Ange, there's high expectations and we're all working towards that.

“Obviously Ange isn't a miracle worker, he has his philosophies and we've got to adapt to that.”

The move represents a career full circle for Dilevski, who is now finally back in his home town and playing for the coach who brought him through the Australian national youth teams and took him to two U20 World Cups.

His failure to push on and win a senior cap might mean there is less hype surrounding Dilevski's arrival than those of some of Postecoglou's other signings.

But if the 27-year-old can rediscover the potential that convinced PSV and Tottenham to pick him up early in his career, and unlock it under his old boss, he could prove to be a shrewd acquisition.

Postecoglou has recruited Adelaide's strength and conditioning coach Peter Cklamovic, who he had worked with at Panachaiki in Greece, to his new backroom staff, meaning he has the inside track on Dilevski's condition, a factor the player said was “definitely a benefit for me”.

Dilevski said it was hard to compare the Ange of old with the all-conquering A-League coach of today due to the different circumstances of national youth and club football, but he said there is no mistaking the style of football Postecoglou will bring to Victory.

“His style of play won't change. It's about keeping the ball and as soon as you lose it, press and get it back. He has shown it, he had two seasons with Brisbane and won it twice.

“His record speaks for itself. You can't doubt what he says you just listen to him and take it on board.”

Though Dilevski has previously played as a fullback or defensive midfielder, Postecoglou has been using the versatile player at centre back in pre-season to add more options to his arsenal and no doubt promote his side's ability to play out from the back.
