Srhoj has directed Perth Glory's midfield after returning to Australia following several years in Romania.

Glory Coach Dave Mitchell identified Srhoj as a key ingredient in his plans for next season and is delighted the 26 year old will be part of the club’s future.

“I remember Wayne when I was coaching in the National League and he was a good player then, a young talent. He has gone on to realise that talent and turned out to be a very good player,” Mitchell said.

“Wayne is influential on the pitch and can dictate the play, he is constantly trying to better himself and I’m sure we’ll see even more of what he has to offer next season,” said Mitchell.

Srhoj joined Glory several weeks into the 2008/09 season and worked overtime on his match fitness to become an ace in the pack for Perth during the club’s much improved second half of the season.

“A sign of a good player is not being caught on the ball and he doesn’t allow that to happen,” said Mitchell.

"Wayne has good vision, plays things simple and doesn’t overelaborate, he is a smart footballer.

“He takes people on at the right times and has a good finish when he gets in dangerous areas.

“There are a several other players we’re talking to and I think with guys like Wayne showing their loyalty and wanting to be a part of Perth Glory next season it is a positive sign.”

Srhoj helped secure the 2003/04 NSL Championship for Perth and is confident those times can be reproduced in the Hyundai A-League and is determined to be part of a new successful era.

“You can see from our performances recently that we have the ability to be a strong performer in the competition and I have faith in Dave and the team he is assembling to achieve success in Perth,” said Srhoj.

“I enjoy the West Australian lifestyle, the club is well set-up and I’m really happy to be here for another season.”

The midfielder will return to Perth’s starting line-up on Sunday at Members Equity Stadium after overcoming a corked thigh he suffered in the club’s last outing at home on Boxing Day.

“It’s a great feeling to play in front of the Glory supporters and with this match being our final home game of the season we definitely want to give the fans something to smile about,” Srhoj said.

“We had a great win over Melbourne last time we played them here and we’ll be looking to repeat that result on Sunday."
