NORTH Queensland Fury coach Franz Straka says he's disappointed some players minds where elsewhere as his side lost 4-0 to Gold Coast United at Skilled Park on Friday evening.
"I'm very disappointed about a couple of players, they think too much about their new clubs," Straka told FoxSports after the game.
Without naming names, Straka added: "If we survive I'm sure I'll build a strong team only with the guys who have desire."
The Fury boss admitted Gold Coast had far too much quality for his depleted side.
"There was a big difference in the two teams in quality. We made two big mistakes and the game was over," Straka said.
Straka was enthused by local youngster Lorenzo Sipi, who played his first ever full 90 minutes in the A-League.
"The positive is Sipi did very well. His first 90 minutes he did his best," he said.
United boss Miron Bleiberg said he was not fully satisfied with his side's performance but was pleased with the partnership struck by front pair Shane Smeltz and Bruce Djite who combined for three of the four goals.
"I'm still not satisfied. I think we can play better," Bleiberg said. "Fury have their rotation policy, they didn't put in their strongest side but we took full advantage.
"It was good timing with Smeltzy back, he scored one and was involved in the other two. Young Chris Harold scored and we kept a clean sheet, so I can't ask for more."
Bleiberg added: "They are supposed to play the same style they come from the same club in Turkey. It worked well and I would hate to think about opposition defences when (Joel) Porter comes on, then we'd have the full force.
"I think we're missing something in midfield too and when Peter Perchtold comes in hopefully this Wednesday, Gold Coast United will be a force to be reckoned with."
