Valon Behrami (CM) - 5

A spectacularly unspectacular performance from the 33 year-old, who spent effectively the entirety of the match moving the ball from right to left, and left to right without really helping his team to get anywhere.

Granit Xhaka (CM) - 6

Like an expensive and well-crafted Swiss watch, Xhaka kept his midfield ticking over with a wide portfolio of passing which consistently hit their mark. On the flip-side, he was beaten scandalously easily by Forsberg for the wining goal, and picked up his first booking in Russia shortly afterwards.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RW) - 7

Had a routine and stuck to it in the first half: cutting inside from his right flank and delivering sweeping left-footed crosses towards onrushing team-mates. While these deliveries were good, it would have been nice to see him charge at Augustinsson and attempt to dribble past him.

Blerim Dzemaili (AMF) - 5

Blasted a very presentable chance high over Olsen's crossbar shortly before the break, and that was his only major contribution. Hauled off for Haris Seferovic as his team chased the game.

14 Steven Zuber (LW) - 7

Looked bright on the ball, taking opponents on one-on-one and shooting on sight. An excellent bit of pass-and-move put Dzemaili in on goal but the chance was wasted. Withdrawn for Breel Embolo.

19 Josip Drmic (CF) - 6

Durge from Drmic. He mustered a solitary shot, off-target.

SUBS

Breel Embolo - 6

Full of positive running after his introduction, but he found nothing but dead ends with Sweden fully committed to standing firm and protecting their lead.

Haris Seferovic - 6

Came closest to nabbing an equaliser, but his header from Rodriguez's cross was gathered well by Olsen.
