Sydney are down to the bare bones with so many players away on international duty but coach Vitezslav Lavicka is trying to remain positive.

Having dropped two points in the first of three successive home games, Sydney will hope their fortunes finally take a turn for the better.

"We were frustrated with the way the Gold Coast game ended, we felt we played really well at times. Usually you have to wait another week to get that out of your system, so in that sense we can't wait to get back on the park against Fury," Lavicka told The Daily Telegraph.

"Our luck's going to turn as well,  you look at the shot from Stephan (Keller) that hit the keeper in the face right at the end, plus there's Brosquey's goal where for some reason advantage wasn't played. Those moments are game breakers."

Sydney are some 15 points adrift of top spot and even a finals position is eight points adrift at this stage.
