Speaking prior to the squad's training session on Friday morning, Kamanz confirmed Middleby, who will leave the club at the end of the current campaign to link with North Queensland Fury, was involved in an incident in the SFS car park after the match.

The 33-year-old midfielder was scheduled to front the media on Friday but under police orders declined to shed further light on the incident, leaving Kamanz to read out a statement on behalf of the club.

Kamanz said: "We can confirm that an incident did take place but obviously Robbie was shaken but fortunately he was not hurt when he was confronted by these two individuals.

"Once the incident took place, Robbie informed the football manager, David Mason, about the incident and Robbie immediately contacted the SFS authorities and security."

The furious club boss slammed the alleged actions of the men in question and would not rule out legal action if the men are tracked down by authorities.

"This confrontation that occurred, as far as the club is concerned, is not on," he said.

"It was a cowardly act by two individuals (who) cannot possibly call themselves fans of Sydney FC or fans of the sport given the behaviour that took place."

"There's no place for such behaviour in football and we as a club have zero tolerance in relation to such actions. And we're doing everything we can possible with the various authorities to make sure that we can apprehend these guys."

"If we can apprehend them you can be assured that as far as we're concerned, we want the full force of any banning orders that are possible and we'd like to see that the guys are prosecuted."

Kamanz insists the club has taken all possible steps to ensure the incident remains a one-off.

"Future security measures have been put in place to make sure that when we're playing at home again that there'll be no repetition of what occurred on this occasion," he said.

"Since Sunday we have been in discussion with FFA, FFA security consultants, the SFS, the SFS security and the police, and we've also been making our own inquiries."
