Sources say the youth team deal is "very, very close" for the powerful 20-year-old forward who's impressed this season with nine goals in all competitions with the NSW premier league club

According to Sydney Olympic coach Milan Blagojevic, the player is ready to step up. "I'm baffled why he hasn't as yet been signed by an A-League," the former Socceroo, Olyroo and Dutch Eredivisie player told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"And there are other players at the club too who can step or have stepped up this year. It shows we're a good place to provide a platform for players to be coached and express themselves."

Olympic plays in the NSW finals this weekend against Manly United. The minor semi final will be played at the club's home ground Belmore sports ground.

"Success draws attention to our club," added Olympic CEO Danny Silvestri. "We brought in Manny Spanoudakis as football director and through him we were lucky to get Milan with his experience and contacts. The club has been able to develop players well.

"Like Shannon Cole [another signing by Sydney FC] we're not going to hold the kid back to make his A-League dream come true," said Silvestri.
