Former Los Angeles Galaxy star Enfield scored a goal on his Sydney FC debut against Wollongong Wolves and had a hand in every one of his new team's three goals versus Marconi Stallions on Wednesday night.

"The club is delighted to have Michael on board for the next two seasons," said Sydney FC chief executive officer George Perry. "He has made a big impact, both on and off the field, since arriving in the country."

Enfield, who starred for the United States of America's national teams as a teenager, scoring seven times in a total of 14 appearances for the Under 18s and Under 20s, is excited to be joining Sydney FC's squad.

"I am very thankful for the opportunity to play in a great city for a great club with great people," said Enfield.

Enfield cannot play for Sydney FC in its AFC Champions League Group E games against Persik Kediri, Shanghai Shenhua and Urawa Reds but he would be eligible to play should the club qualify for the competition's knockout phase, which kicks off in September.
